  1. Hi everyone,
Some of you may have been loyal customers with a particular telco for many years because of good service and reliability. So the telco will reward you for your loyalty in return for being their long term customer.
I want to share my bad experience with all who thought that loyalty pays.
I have been a customer with one particular telco for more than 10 years and have two lines subscribe under my name. You may think that being more than 10 years with this telco, I should have gotten lots of benefits. But in really is not.
About 2 months ago (April/May 2010), my son lost his mobile phone. This phone was subscribed under my name. I immediately informed the telco to suspend the line. But 2 days had passed and still no news about the lost phone. But with a line and without a phone s of no use at all. So I asked the telco if I can re-contract this line and get a new phone at a re-contract price. But to my surprise they told me I am not allowed to because the existing contract is not due for renewal and thus not entitle to re-contract and get a phone at a special price. Instead they suggest that I can buy a phone from them at the full retail price. I was furious and upset as I have been a loyal customer with them for more than 10 years and there is no privilege given. I was willing to give them the business but they insisted that I have to buys a phone at full price.
Initially I thought that the customer service staff over the phone was not able to grant me this request of a new phone at a re-contract price because of limited authority. So I wrote in through their feedback page and still got the same reply. Again I wrote in to explain my stand one more time but again the request was rejected. I was really furious. Given them the business for more than 10 years for 2 lines, and I get such a cold respond from them. I did not expect to be treated this way. So I concluded that they don’t treasure long term customer. What they are aiming for are new customers. I was so mad that I told them I will switch telco once the contracts expire and this does not bother them at all.
Thus I am definitely had made up my mind to pod both of my lines to a new telco. I will give the business to one who treasures the customers.
By now you may wonder which telco I am talking about. Well I am going to give you a clue. The colour of the logo is Orange.
Therefore please be warned, do not stay with them for too long. When you need help most, they will turn their back on you. That’s the way they treat their long term customer.
Please inform all your friends and relative about this. Don’t be traped.

  2. totally agree. I have exact same experience with the yellow logo teco when my phone was stolen. I made the switch after waited for 2 years till contract end!! If I were u, I would go to sim lim square to find a replacement phone and won’t give the company another 2 years time.

  3. i had the same experience with the same telco too. spoilt my phone. only two months away from end of contract, yet not allowed to switch the ownership of line to my own name and change to iphone plan. (it was under my dad’s name, with a student plan) was asked to pay 30o bucks if i want to cancel or switch line. was their customer for 6 years. no vouchers, no special deals for recontracting 3 times. this is final. i’m switching telco

  4. i totally agree…that orange logo sux to the max. i’ve been with them for more than 10 yrs, been through lost of phone twice and i’ve never ever had anything from them. not a discount nor a voucher to say the least and i always hear from my frens abt them getting voucher and stuff from the other telcos. indeed it is NOT WORTH IT to be a loyal customer coz it’s the same treatment since the very 1st yr. so i’ve decided to switch telco as of this month for the new iphone4.

  5. hey boys and gals here, just to share… the GREEN is just as bad.
with them since day1 never get any offer phones as i am those who will stick with the phone till its dead type. last week tot of getting the new iphone 4,guess what they told me, “u can’t renew or recontract now as u are 14mths only, unless i top up $300 above the current price even if i upgrade to the $198 plan which my current is the $58.” best of all i gotta wait min 6 weeks.
so i am considering left or right i need to pay $300,why not i pay $300 cancel my contract and get a phone instantly from the next telco,be it orange or red.

  6. Hi people….me got a totally different experience to share…my mum got the cheapest plan in the “green” company…she has been receiving about $100 vouchuer every 2 yr for her to upgrade her phone! My sis is with “red” andshe also received some vouchuer for upgrade but not as frequent as my mum. I got so pissed with the “orange ones” that I called in…made a small fuss on the phone and they finally gave me a $230 vouchuer to change a phone! Wat was suai for me is the phone I used the $230 to changed to gave me so much problem tat I feedback to the “orange” company again and they are willing to let me get another phone and forgo the $100 charge as the line is only 11 mth old…been with them for more than 15yr!
Me heard that the “red” and “green” also as bad towards their customer from many friends but just wasn’t shown in my mum nor sis’s case!

  7. well… what we need here is true competition! the red, the
orange, the green, the blue, the white, the whatever… has all the
same data and know what kind of sh!t we will live up with cos all r
    providing sh!t…
