Microsoft Xbox 360 Kinect Launch Date and Prices in Singapore + StarHub MaxOnline Promotion

Microsoft Kinect is coming to stores in Singapore starting from 18th November 2010 with a suggested retail price of S$229 for the Kinect Sensor + “Kinect Adventures” game and S$469 for the new Xbox 360 4GB console + Kinect Sensor + “Kinect Adventures” game.

Approximately 15 Kinect games will be available by the end of this year. Among them are Kinect Adventures, Kinect Joy Ride, Kinectimals, Kinect Sports, Dance Central and Your Shape: Fitness Evolved. Also coming this holiday are EA Sports Active 2, Deca Sports Freedom, Dance Masters, Adrenalin Misfits, Zumba Fitness, Sonic Free Riders, The Biggest Loser: Ultimate Workout, Motion Sports and Game Party: In Motion.

New and existing StarHub MaxOnline customers can also look forward to picking up a special StarHub-Xbox360 Kinect bundle at StarHub shops next month. More information at StarHub MaxOnline Xbox 360 Kinect Promotion.

HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z coming to Singapore

HTC Desire HD is one of the most stunning devices I’ve ever encountered, with a huge 4.3″ Super LCD display, Dolby Mobile and SRS Surround sound, and 1GHz 8255 Snapdragon processor. It has a 8-megapixel camera with dual LED flash which can do 720p HD video recording. It also has the new HTC Fast Boot that boots your phone from off to start in less than 10 secs.

It will be available in Singapore from November onwards at ALL mobile operators (SingTel, M1, StarHub) at a suggested retail price of S$888.

HTC Desire Z is the next qwerty keyboard Android phone since the HTC Dream 1.5 years ago. It has a 3.7″ touch screen with a 800MHz Qualcomm 7230 processor, together with a 5-megapixel camera that can do 720p  HD video recording.

It will be available in Singapore from November onwards at ALL mobile operators (SingTel, M1, StarHub) at a suggested retail price of S$868.

HTC Sense is not just a skin, or wallpapers, or the various customizations that HTC has done with their Android phones. HTC Sense is a holistic experience of your entire phone that is filled with insightful moments of delights. HTC has taken that step further by introducing a service called HTCSense.com which offers various functionalities like instant synchronization and management of contacts and messages (SMS), protection and location of your phone, and footprints integration. Not only that, newly developed e-book store app powered by Kobo and a Locations app that brings cached maps and navigation to your phone.

All these comes free bundled together with your new HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z.

SMU TWC Innovation Symposium Projects

Last week, I attended the SMU TWC (Technology and World Change) Innovation Symposium, which is a student showcase of innovative products and services these students have developed intensively over the past 7 weeks. At the symposium, students pitched their ideas to a large crowd of 300 ranging from working professionals from different industries, professors and their peers. This was followed by a interactive showcase with 21 mini booths, featuring actual prototypes of students, where they were given the opportunity to share their project in detail.

Of all 21 entries, the notables are the W.O.W. Modular Table which is a table that cleans up your clutter by integrating gadget docks, lamps, charging stations, etc. as part of your table to reduce the clutter of wires. The potential for this design is huge, and highly extensible with various devices built modularly for it like a router or other devices. They presented a good pitch, but the possibilities of the idea itself is enough to convince any investor.

Another project I’m impressed with is Segments, a mobile  toiletry storage which you can carry around for travels or to your gym. It integrates a dispenser as part of the storage too. If they change the material from acrylic to something less bulky and can easily fit into a handbag, they have a good thing going. They did a very good pitch and proposed a very sound business opportunity to the investors.
