HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z coming to Singapore

HTC Desire HD is one of the most stunning devices I’ve ever encountered, with a huge 4.3″ Super LCD display, Dolby Mobile and SRS Surround sound, and 1GHz 8255 Snapdragon processor. It has a 8-megapixel camera with dual LED flash which can do 720p HD video recording. It also has the new HTC Fast Boot that boots your phone from off to start in less than 10 secs.

It will be available in Singapore from November onwards at ALL mobile operators (SingTel, M1, StarHub) at a suggested retail price of S$888.

HTC Desire Z is the next qwerty keyboard Android phone since the HTC Dream 1.5 years ago. It has a 3.7″ touch screen with a 800MHz Qualcomm 7230 processor, together with a 5-megapixel camera that can do 720p  HD video recording.

It will be available in Singapore from November onwards at ALL mobile operators (SingTel, M1, StarHub) at a suggested retail price of S$868.

HTC Sense is not just a skin, or wallpapers, or the various customizations that HTC has done with their Android phones. HTC Sense is a holistic experience of your entire phone that is filled with insightful moments of delights. HTC has taken that step further by introducing a service called which offers various functionalities like instant synchronization and management of contacts and messages (SMS), protection and location of your phone, and footprints integration. Not only that, newly developed e-book store app powered by Kobo and a Locations app that brings cached maps and navigation to your phone.

All these comes free bundled together with your new HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z.

  1. Thankz man… waiting for Desire HD. Awesome

  2. been waiting for this! Simply awesome! Is that turn by turn navigation app they mentioned, ShowNearby? My friends all have it on their phones, I hope HTC has pre-bundled that to save my time from downloading it!

    • ShowNearby is not a turn-by-turn navigation app. It’s an app to show the nearby facilities and busstops and other stuff.

This is a turn by turn navigation called “Locations” which will come pre-installed with HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z. It also downloads and caches the maps so you can use it even without any internet connection, which is important while driving. “Locations” is part of the whole HTC Sense experience.

  3. Hi, can I ask if it’s available on 1st nov? Or somewhere in the month~ cuz I’m looking for a good time to sell off my 3GS 😛

  4. Wrote to Singtel, this is their reply:

Thank you for your email feedback dated 1 November 2010 with regards to HTC Desire HD.

We would like to inform you that we have not launch HTC Desire HD and unable to advise on the launch. You may monitor our new launch and promotion at Saturdays’ Straits Times.

For further enquiries or feedback, please call our hotline at 1688 or +6562351688 from overseas (IDD charges payable.)

They are not committed at the moment, if they are thinking of promoting HTC HD7 in the place of HTC Desire HD, then it is sad that our needs are not taken into consideration. HD7 is awesome too but still cannot compare to Desire HD. IMHO.

  5. I am waiting for this phone too, and from what my friend said, Starhub did told my friend that the phones are coming in November. Just the problem is, early Nov? or mid Nov? or end of Nov?

  6. Hi Justin Lee

Did you manage to find out the confirmed date for the release of Desire HD

  7. Cant wait >_< .. My friend said HTC Desire is good.. So desire HD must be damm good ! : D

  8. i saw in today’s NEWPAPER. that desire z is out.. by m1..

  9. still waiting for desire hd.. starhub is forever slow..
and the price is kind of different from the price said from the start..
thinking how much will desire hd be

  10. can’t wait to get my hands on desire HD. had checked with singtel by email, phone, chat and staff at shop and they all r unable to advise the date of release. sigh.. hope they can get it by end of nov.

  11. seems like the suggested retail price is not accurate :< anyone has any idea what will be the actual retail price for desire hd?

    • The SRP is given by HTC themselves. It usually is around that price or cheaper without contract if bought in a store. Do note “S” stands for Suggested, which means it is up to the retailer to price it themselves.

  12. 3G Flexi – 348 for DesireZ, outside price is 760S$
    3G Flexi – 318 for Omnia7, outside price is 950S$
    3G Flexi – 298 for HTC HD7, outside price is 910S$

Why Singtel DesireZ plan is so expensive even outside market price is 760S$ only?

  13. Looks like Singtel is trying to clear their HTC Desire during the upcoming C3 2010 sales before launching the HD.

  14. OMG LOVE THIS PHONE… <3 PLease release this AWESOME PHONE ASAP the best is tomorrow!!! Have been waiting for nearly a month..

  15. I just hope they can release it before that day, haha, i cant wait to get my hands on that phone.

  16. heard that it will be released on 04th Dec 2010 , issit true?

  17. 4th dec singtel release ah? they alway release new phone on saturday one..

  18. Hi, Its that true?? I better rush to Starhub today and have a check! been waiting for it. Any more details such as price with contract and so?

  19. I have called Starhub and the guy said there is no new for this phone? Justin Lee, Can you double confirm that stocks are already in at all telcos before I make a trip down. Thanks.

  20. Think what he meant was the stocks are in the authorised dealers already. Just checkout 2 authorised dealers at Funan both store selling @ $888 without plan

  21. Hi, Just checked with Starhub at Plaza Sing. They confirmed the phone will be on rack start from tomorrow, 4th Dec

  22. Oh Yeah ! release liao !

  23. Ong,wat is the price????????
    with and without contract one.

  24. Singtel & starhub: $398 with 48.95/mth plan
    M1 : $448 with 48.95/mth plan

    Retailed price: $790 – $830

Starhub out of stock currently… wasted my journey to town..

  25. Hi Dennis, can u please give me the link for starhub offer this htc desire hd?

  26. : ( I asked helloshop, they said onli singtel online website have desire hd,and asked outside shop for protective cover etc, they said quite rare : ( double disspointment

  27. Go buy from ebay, got my htc desire hd together with the cover.

  28. hi persona, how much did you pay for htc desire hd and the cover?

  29. desire hd battery really.. haiz!

  30. i searched 20 stores but no cover and screen protector. finalli got mine at mustafa which i saw only got 2sets(cover+protector)for $19.
and i have got a htc battery bank.

  31. @xiaoxin Is the battery life that bad?

  32. mustafa! power !… Battery so bad ah? And I go youtube compare HTC desire and HD seems like the screen Desire is much better than HD lor. Screen color very important : D.. I tot HD should be high definetion la.. in the end… : ( Now i have doubt of getting on HD.. Whats on my mind (iphone4, HTC Desire & HD and Samsung galaxy S)

  33. Hi Lee

do u know anywhere HTC desire HD is available.. We have search few shops
    Everywhere its Out of Stock
you have any idea where i can get this phone

    • Apologies frank. You have to try your luck. HTC delayed the release of HTC Desire HD for at least a week, and I think it’s due to stock issues. They also told me that on the date of release (4th December), they only brought in very few units. I don’t know when the next batch will come in, but from what I know it’s slow to come.

  34. I got HTC Desire HD at IMM Starhub on Friday (last one, I was told) and got my screen protector(matt) for $12 just outside Starhub (come out of store, turn right, within 20 steps). However, unable to get cover even at Clementi central.

wrt battery life, don’t you guys find it odd that Desire Z having a smaller screen (of 3.7″ vs 4.3″)have a larger battery capacity (1300mAh) while Desire HD having a 1GHz processor speed, higher resolution cam with dual LED flashes, etc, is equipped with a battery of only 1230mAh?

  36. Anyone knows what is the data plan on starhub when you subscribe supersurf 300 for htc desire hd?

  37. Anyone knows what is the data plan speed on starhub when you subscribe supersurf 300 for htc desire hd? Is it 1mb or 2mb?
