Western Digital WD TV Live Hub Media Center Available in Singapore

Western Digital recently announced the availability of their WD TV Live Hub Media Center in Singapore. It is a Full-HD 1080p media player with a 1 terabyte (TB) built-in network hard drive that gives users the freedom to play all their personal media on any screen in the home.

The WD TV Live Hub Media Center is able to play most video formats such as AVI (Xvid, AVC, MPEG1/2/4), MPG/ MPEG, VOB, MKV (H.264, x.264, AVC, MPEG1/2/4, VC-1), TS/TP/M2T (MPEG1/2/4, AVC, VC-1), MP4/MOV (MPEG4, h.264), M2TS, WMV9. It is also a media server: HD video, music and photos can be streamed from the onboard hard drive to any DLNA/UPnP-compatible TV or multimedia device.

The WD TV Live Hub Media Center also offers a unique Facebook integration, YouTube and Flickr, as well as Pandora and MediaFly.

It is available at major retail shops at an MSRP of S$319.99.

    Can I use it as normal portable hard drive, for example watching all this stuff on laptop via usb connections?

    Is it accessible via wired/wifi connection by other users at the same time while watching on tv?

    • @Andy: It is in Singapore. It is a Singapore retail store.
      No you will only be able to watch all the stuff on the laptop via ethernet.
      Yes it is accessible simultaneously via your network, provided you plug it through the wired ethernet port.
