The Google Nexus S – featuring all the new goodness on Android 2.3 Gingerbread with the brilliance of hardware. Notables that makes this device stand out besides Android 2.3′s latest features:
- Contour Display with curved glass SUPER AMOLED 4.0″ WVGA (480×800)
- Near Field Communication (NFC) + Three-axis gyroscope
- 1GHz Cortex A8 (Hummingbird) processor (read – Dedicated Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)) with 16GB iNAND flash memory
After December 16, Nexus S will be sold unlocked and carrier-independent initially through Best Buy stores in the U.S. and after December 20 at Carphone Warehouse stores in the UK. It is still unknown when it will be available in other countries. Let’s hope they continue the worldwide shipping with Google checkout. It will be available at USD$529.
Notable changes for consumers on Gingerbread Android 2.3:
- black notification bar, improved on-screen keyboard with multi-touch support
- One-touch word selection and improved copy-paste
- Internet calling (VoIP/ SIP support)
