Getting Samsung Kies to install on Mac OS X Lion

I recently had to install Samsung Kies on my Mac OS X Lion, and apparently the latest version doesn’t want to be installed on the Mac OS X Lion, stating that this OS is not supported. In order to get the latest version to work with your Mac OS X Lion, you’ll have to download the older version of Samsung Kies and install it.

Launch the Samsung Kies app, go to “Preferences > Update” and update your Samsung Kies app to the latest version. It’ll just take a few minutes depending on your internet connection speed. After a bit of churning, it should be installed and you’re good to connect your Samsung device.

Download KiesMac_1.0.0.11055_7.dmg. Latest version as of writing is KiesMac_1.0.0.11081_4_1.dmg.

    It can be installed but Galaxy S2 and Tab 10.1 can’t be synced anyway.

    Kies is a JOKE!!  Ive got the Samsung Galaxy S and had Kies working, well sort of, for a few months on my Mac.  Had to turn the computer and phone off and then back on to enable Kies to accept the phone.
    Now I go to open Kies and find it will not even open.  Go to the site and get told that their Mac version only accepts Galaxy S2 …..  What a bloody joke.  Shit program, shit phones, Samsung have now def’ lost me.
    Apple here I come

    Got notified today for an firmware upgrade (ICE I guess) on my Galaxy SII. Downloaded it and started installing and it failed. Tried the Kies application on my Mac and it couldn’t detect my Galaxy SII… Uninstalled it. Have now been trying for an hour on my Windows PC having the PC version of Kies detecting my phone. And again it’s the same… Can’t detect the phone. Trying everything other suggest by enabling USB debugging, restarting phone and PC, etc but no it just doesn’t work. 

    At least I learned from my whole Samsung/Android adventure that my life is just to short for waisting time on these.
