Savvis Expands in Asia with a New Second Data Center in Singapore

Savvis will be investing $100 million in this 53,000-square-foot facility, dubbed SG2, including 32,000 square feet of raised floor space and IT capacity of 3.6 megawatts of power. Savvis will offer a full suite of enterprise-class colocation, managed hosting, cloud computing and network services.

This new facility is located in Jurong East, approximately 17 kilometers west of Savvis’ current data center. SG2 has undergone a threat vulnerability risk assessment (TVRA) will meet the strict banking and financial regulations for data center facilities. Combined with the current data center, Savvis will offer dual-site diversification for its clients. Construction is scheduled to begin in March, with the data center opening scheduled for early September 2012.
