The Xiaomi Mi 4i features a 5” 1080p Full HD display with a sleek unibody design, with top-of-the-line components from leading global suppliers such as Qualcomm, Samsung, Corning and Sony. Xiaomi has yet again managed to make it a highly affordable mid-range Android phone to the general public.
One of the smallest and thinnest motherboard
This allows for more space to contain a larger battery of 3120mAh. Able to power through 1.5 days of normal usage, the Xiaomi Mi 4i has a battery capacity that is 38% larger than premium phones of similar size. It even outshines the iPhone 6 with a 72% higher battery capacity.
For faster performance, Xiaomi Mi 4i comes equipped with a 2nd-gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core 64-bit processor, 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 16GB of onboard Flash. It also features 4G dual SIM slots.
13MP f/2.0 rear camera and 5MP front camera
The Xiaomi Mi 4i is able to take clear and beautiful photos with the 13MP f/2.0 rear camera, while being able to take gorgeous selfies with the 80 degree wide angle lens of the front-facing 5MP camera. As usual, Xiaomi has done a good job with the real-time beautify feature inside the default camera app, allowing those who wants that little subtle touchup to their selfies.
The Xiaomi Mi 4i ships with MIUI 6 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop, the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system. One of the major improvements is the Sunlight Display dynamically adjusts the contrast of each pixel for crystal-clear screen (not just adjusting screen brightness) even under direct sunlight, allowing the user to still view the screen without it completely being washed out. This feature requires both a hardware component inside the phone, and software to adjust each individual pixel.
After using the Xiaomi Mi 4i for the past few weeks, I find the phone relatively good for anyone looking for a secondary phone supporting dual 4G SIM card, very useful when I travel so often. The amount of control you get managing the dual 4G SIM capabilities are astounding with the MIUI 6. Otherwise, you would expect the same standard features from any Xiaomi phone. If you’re in the market for an affordable dual 4G SIM phone, I highly recommend the Xiaomi Mi 4i.
