The Great Singapore Sale 2015 Report: Insights about consumer footfall

AdNear, a location intelligence company headquartered in Singapore, has released its findings on the trends and foot traffic of shoppers during the Great Singapore Sale 2015. The research was conducted during the month of June covering 6 different areas in Singapore. This helps provide a better and more in-depth insight of shoppers and their habits in Singapore.

As expected, Orchard Road has received the highest number of foot traffic in comparison to other popular shopping areas such as Bugis, Novena Square, Raffles City and Suntec City. Boasting a huge collection of malls and outlets, Orchard Road reigns as the superior shopping site with 2.5 times more foot traffic.

Based on AdNear’s research, while women seem to favour Orchard Road as their go-to shopping destination, men tend to prefer sojourning at Marina Square. More women choose to shop on Sundays while men do it during the midweek. Despite the differences in shopping habits, both genders are more inclined to shop between 5pm and 9pm.

Ultimately, age plays one of the biggest roles in deciding the shopping locations among Singaporean shoppers. Here are some of the findings of popular destinations among the different age groups:

  • Ages16-25 : Bugis Junction
  • Ages 26-35 : Raffles city and Marina Square
  • Ages 36 & above : Suntec City
