Yuki Naruse, a Babson college alumni and Tokyo-raised 22yo guy attending Waseda University, just started his tour to meet entrepreneurs and nomad workers all around the globe. Termed the Nomad Project, Yuki intends to study the Nomad Business Person and entrepreneurs, gaining valuable insights on the concept of entrepreneurship and global career. The lessons he learnt will be shared with his peers back in Japan, convincing them to expand their horizons.

The concept of a Digital Nomad is someone who uses technology and the internet to work remotely—from home, the coffee shop, internet cafe, or even to collaborate remotely with teams anywhere in the world.

Yuki is currently in Singapore for  few days interviewing these Digital Nomads, so if you do meet him do say hi and share your experiences working everywhere all around Singapore without being restrained by a desk.

Check out updates of his travels and experiences:

Startup Weekend arrives for the second time in Singapore! For 54 intense hours, participants brainstorm, plan, prototype, and pitch a startup concept.

If you’re technical, think of it as a weekend-long hackathon, sort of like a SuperHappyDevHouse, but held at Microsoft’s premises. If you’re non-technical, (what are you doing on this mailing list?) think of it as a chance to practice Powerpoint. Mentors, speakers, and judges include members of AWS’s tech team, serial Internet entrepreneurs, and venture capitalists.

Details: April 29 – May 1, 2011 at Microsoft @ 22 level @One Marina Boulevard (OMB)

Some FAQ:

Do I have to have an idea for a startup? No. There will be lots of people with ideas, so you can always join somebody else’s team.
What is the time commitment? Friday night from 6pm to 11pm; Saturday 10am to 10pm; Sunday 10am to 10pm.
What does it cost? If you register before April 6, $75 for geeks and $88 for muggles. After April 6 it’s $99.  So register soon.
Who’s facilitating? Last year it was Marc Nager. This year, Joey Pomerenke.
What about food? Meng Weng will be cooking his famous sous vide: eggs for breakfast, roast beef and BBQ ribs for lunch, and oxtail for dinner. In case that turns out to be a total failure, Lau Pa Sat is just a short walk away.

So we’ve started our march towards Barcamp Singapore 4. Preetam Rai has done a great job securing an awesome place at the IDA office in Suntec Tower 3, 14th floor. There’s probably going to be 3 training rooms for barcamp sessions, 4 meeting rooms for brainstorming and discussions,  and 1 lobby for food and networking. This is by far the most awesome Barcamp location, and it will be the most awesome Barcamp ever held in Singapore.

When: 21st November 2009
Where: IDA office at Suntec Tower 3, 14th floor.

So to all geeks, designers, social media, startups, and just anyone, go add your name as a participant to the wiki now, or even suggest a topic, at Barcamp Singapore 4 and join us in the spirit of sharing, brainstorming, discussing, and just plain old fun.
