New Mobile Printing Solutions and Content Services for HP Printers

HP has introduced new mobile printing solutions, which allows for increased control and broader capabilities that contribute to an enhanced printing experience.

  • The HP Printer Control mobile app transforms the screen on a mobile device into the HP printer display to provide wireless control over printing, copying and scanning.
  • The new HP ePrint Home & Biz mobile app is a free tool for Android, iOS, and Symbian  smartphones, making it easy to locate a printer and print from anywhere in the world.
  • With Social ID, new and existing customers can now customize their ePrint email addresses, making it as much a part of their “social ID” as their email addresses.

About 100 print apps are now available in the Asia Pacific region, with a quarter of them offering local content. Users can easily program for Scheduled Delivery of selected content to their Web-connected printers.

HP continues to grow its suite of local print apps to provide content that matters to our users and announces today its partnership with five new content providers in Asia Pacific. Anyschool (Korea), Magic Hanja (Korea) and Modern Educational Research Society, Ltd. (Hong Kong) will provide educational print-outs for young children, alongside Sesame Street which will provide local content for users in China. Meishi China will also offer recipes for users in China. In addition, HP announced the development of the HP Go Family China print app that will provide family gifts-greeting cards, wrapping paper, and calendars for special occasions.

Notably is the new Facebook app which will allow you to print your photos directly from Facebook.

HP Labs research reveals impact of ‘social influence’ on decision-making

New research from HP Labs reveals how ’social influence’ can affect decision-making, particularly purchase decisions.  Here are the key findings:

  1. Our choices (i.e. purchase behavior) can be reversed when we’re exposed to the recommendations of others. In a surprising twist, though, we’re more likely to change our minds when fewer, not more, people disagree with us.
  2. The influence is stronger when people are required to make their second decision sometime later, rather than immediately.
  3. Finally, the time people spend making the first decision significantly predicts whether they will reverse their decisions later on, while demographics such as age and gender do not.

HP “Closed Loop” Ink Cartridge Recycling Program

Do you own a HP Inkjet or Laserjet printer? Are you recycling your ink cartridges after use? No? Well, HP has this “Closed Loop” Ink Cartridge Recycling Program that will recycle your old ink cartridges to produce new ink cartridges. The process includes combining plastic from used HP Ink cartridges and other recycled plastics (i.e. water bottles) to manufacture new Original HP Ink cartridges, with up to 70% of each new cartridge being made from recycled material.

In Singapore, there is a total of 61 HP appointed Collection Centres located island-wide, such as Funan DigitalLife Mall, Harbourfront Centre and NUS. So go recycle, and keep our earth safe.

You heard me right. But no details yet on pricing, or whether if the HP TouchPad will be “bundled” together with HP laptops. Guesstimate pricing will be around SGD$118 for the 16GB version and SGD$188 for the 32GB version.

I’ll get you the details as soon as I can. Comex 2011 will be held at Suntec from 1st September to 4th September starting at 12pm to 9pm.

The 16GB and 32GB HP TouchPads will be available for S$118 (S$126 with GST) and S$188  (S$201 with GST) per unit respectively during the first two days of COMEX 2011 (1-2 September 2011). 100 units of the 16GB and 32GB versions EACH will be available each day and this purchase is limited to one unit per person, regardless of whether it’s 16GB or 32GB.
